Using Your Camcorder To Make YouTube Videos
|
You can use your camcorder to make YouTube videos that can be used just for fun, to promote your website, or to attract backlinks and increase your site ranking with the search engines.
Using your camcorder to make YouTube videos is easier than you think, especially with a digital camcorder.
Assuming that you probably already know how to record with your digital camcorder; all you need to do is shoot your video, download it, and then upload it to YouTube in the proper format.
It can't get any easier than that!
If you prefer to use the older analog video recorders, that still use VHS tapes to record your videos (as I still do!); all you need to upload your tape to YouTube is a converter box to create a digital copy of your VHS video.
Once your VHS is digitized, you can either upload it to YouTube as is, or use video editing software to fine tune your creation and then upload it to their site.
You will probably attract a larger audience if you improve on your uploaded video instead of leaving it "as is".
Even a little bit of editing can make the difference between a "blah" video and a more interesting, graphically improved version.
Here's what you need to do.
First you obviously need to have some video editing software on your computer or have access to it.
Many types of editing software are available online at a nominal cost or for free. Or, you can just use Windows MovieMaker.
After your editing software is installed, upload your video to the application and edit it to your heart's content.
It's a good idea to create at least a couple of versions of your video and test each for the best response from your viewers. This is especially important when adding URLs or other descriptive content to your video.
Try adding some special effects to make your video stand out from the crowd such as:
- Adding titles or chapters to your video if it is lengthy.
- Add fade ins or fade outs to your video
- Change color schemes until you come up with the best viewer response
- Add and test different audio tracks to your video
- Add captions or bubbles to your video to generate interest
These are only a few of the additions you can make to encourage more viewers to check out your video.
When using your camcorder to make YouTube videos; the world is your palette and you are the artist.
Check out the "featured videos" section on YouTube, if you have any questions about constitutes a great video.
Discover what makes a killer video and then use these ideas to improve your video.
- Is the content of your video totally outrageous?
- Are you using multiple special effects to make your video stand out?
- Have you used a compelling keyword rich subtitles?
- Have you included category titles?
- Have you included a sound track that is appropriate to your video content?
Write down what you like and dislike about your video, and ask someone else to give you their opinion of it and how it can be improved.
There is no limit to what you can come up with when using your camcorder to make YouTube videos, so get to it.
