Retro Slave: All new BRONX WARRIORS trilogy box coming in December
|
Italian cult hero, Enzo G. Castellari, may be known to most as the director of the original Inglorious Bastards (with an "a"), but around these parts he'll always be lauded as the creator of those great Italian post-apocalyptic Bs known lovingly as "The Bronx Warriors Trilogy." Word to the wise, the films are not actually a trilogy, but rather a series of films designed to mimic the success of three films: The Warriors, Escape from New York, and The Road Warrior.
Word is, the gang at Shameless Screen Entertainment are bringing these films back to life in a special set 3-disc boxed set:
"The three-disc set comes packaged in a limited edition special collector’s tin and includes reversible sleeves for each individual title. Additional special features include an introduction to the films by Castellari, plus an all-new 20-minute interview with the director.
As an extra bonus for fans, the version of scape From The Bronx included in the set is a newly restored anamorphic widescreen presentation complete with a Shameless rebuild edit that represents what is believed to be the most complete version of the film available anywhere."
Watch a special video trailer including an intro by Castellari himself after the break.
