We don’t live in a comic-book world where a few super-heroic individuals fly, run, or teleport to the rescue whenever people are in trouble. But every now and then, one person comes along who makes it his or her job to defend the rights of consumers.

Working with the White House, Warren formed the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, whose job it is to regulate credit cards and other financial instruments so that the rights of consumers are protected. To many, she is a superhero, without the cape and tights.
