The Shrink Wrap Effect |

| This is an odd title, but it relates to the look gained by many celebrities - where their muscles appear to be "shrink wrapped" by their skin. This is in contrast to the soft and rounded look that many bodybuilders attain despite working out for hours in the gym.
There is a tried and tested method of getting this look and a reason why so many of us get it wrong!
In a nutshell, the basics are that you focus on a number of low reps and high weights for about three months. This makes the muscles denser and is attributed to a condition called "myofibrillar hypertrophy" (more on that later).
You lose fat and focus on becoming slightly lighter than your target weight, then up your reps and lower your weight to create "sarcoplasmic hypertrophy" (more on that too later).
Where does the "Shrink Wrap Effect" come in? Well since you have built dense, hard muscles over time and have reduced your weight to less than optimum, when you work out in a different way, your muscles get bigger and they fill out the skin tightly. This method gives you the GQ model looks for the beach! |
